I would have bought Sun, if I had a spare £7.4 billion.
IBM could have cleaned up, now Oracle will. Oracle definitely foresaw this opportunity.
In my previous post, I made several requests. Now, there are just two:
- ‘Staff Who Were At Sun’ Department: NEVER market Java, finish the promised code, and stop trying to make Unix/Linux versions.
- Once the merger/takeover is over, I expect to see ‘Java 3 Proper Edition’ on my desktop.
