How to rip from a CD in Windows: Put original CD in CD Drive. Open Sound Forge. Go to Tools --> select Extract Audio From CD Choose CDRW as source (if not already selected) --> Highlight tracks to copy. Select 8x as the reading speed --> press OK. Wait until all tracks have been copied. Last track will be selected. Press Space to listen to beginning and end of track. (Ctrl Home/Ctrl End can be used to jump to beginning and end of track.) Check the track sounds normal (not cut off and no big gaps). If track sounds odd then play CD in winamp to check it sounds the same. (Open Winamp --> press symbol on top left --> choose Play then Audio CD G:) If secret track needs separating then: press small magnifying glass to see easier --> play near beginning of gap and check whether it's silent using green bars on right --> click to select start position --> zoom out to see all of gap --> drag from right of start position (cursor changes to arrows) to left of secret track. --> press Space to play and check it's all silent (use green bars) --> If all silent then press Delete to delete silent bit. Zoom out and select the secret track only. --> copy (using Ctrl C) --> Paste as new file using Ctrl E --> zoom in and delete any silent bits off beginning/end (When saving secret track increase OriginalTrackNo by 1 and use name of previous track, e.g. 15-Whatsername) Choose original file and delete secret track If track is ok then press F12 to save it --> choose/create a folder in Claires\Music Change name of track to be TrackNo-Track Name.mp3 (e.g. 01-Warning.mp3) (If track name contains full stops use spaces instead, cannot have "\", "/", ":", "*", "?", quotes, "<", ">" or "|") Change Template to "128 Kbps, CD Audio Quality" Change Rgns/Playlist to "(Do not save Regions or Playlist)" (If checked) uncheck "Save Summary Information in file" Press Save --> wait until file is saved then press No (don't re-open file) Press Ctrl F4 --> next track is selected --> follow the procedure again ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
